Diving Into Flash
This week I started reading through the actionscript 3.0 documentation, starting to learn my way around and the functionality available through flash and actionscript. I have worked in flash and actionscript before but it was flash mx and actionscript 1.0, things have changed but I think it is for the better.
I am anxious to start working in the interactive world that flash provides, especially with the release of Flash CS4. I started studying up because we wanted to upgrade the state map on The Health Care Credit Union Association with an interactive flash map. I needed to modify it to fit our needs which I could do without studying the documentation but I wanted to dig deeper and know more. It was a little confusing at first because the flash map was coded in actionscript 2.0 and I was reading different methods for doing the same thing, the only difference was one way was for actionscript 2.0 and the other was for actionscript 3.0. For now I just have an overview of the language once I feel I know enough, I will start to apply it and showcase some of my work here.
